Tighten your muscles and straighten your knee as much as possible. After holding for 5-10 seconds, relax the muscles. Repeat the exercise 10 times during a span of to minutes. Relax for 1 minute and repeat again. Do till your thigh gets fatigued.
Straight Leg Raises
Tighten your thigh muscle and keep your knee fully straightened on the bed. Lift your leg up to a level you are comfortable raising. Stay in the position for 5-10 seconds. Lower your leg gradually and repeat till you feel tired. This exercise can be done while sitting also.
While lying or sitting, move the foot area up and down in a rhythm caused by the contraction of your calf and shin muscles. It should be ideally performed for 2-3 minutes for 2-3 times an hour. It is an ideal exercise to be done in the recovery room.
Knee Straightening Exercises
This exercise has a specific position to start with. Place a towel just above the heel to avoid the heel touching the bed. Tighten your thigh muscle and try to straighten your knee as much as you can and try to touch the back of the knee to the bed. Stay in this position for 5-10 seconds and keep on repeating
