Taking more medications than prescribed by the doctor will also harm your knees. The doctors always recommend taking medications as needed to get relief from the pain. Some of the treatments that also help to get rid of the knee pain such as injections of corticosteroids and analgesics such as acetaminophen. The injections of corticosteroids are very common and the research is going on to see for how long they can control the knee pain. Other then this cold and heat therapy can also help the patients. Those who are suffering from the joint stiffness can use try moist heat and for pain and swelling ice pack is the best option.

  • Exercise

Different types of physical activities such as walking, swimming, and biking can help patients. Doing exercise can help you to build strength as it will align them and it will help them to function properly. Always warm up when you are going to start doing exercise and when you are done. Before getting yourself in any physical activity you should consult the doctor to be sure how much exercise will be best for you.

  • Wear comfortable shoes

Many studies showed that patients who are suffering from knee osteoarthritis should wear comfortable shoes. Wearing shoes that are comfortable will increase your foot mobility and this way it will decrease the force applied on the knees.
